Dr. Saba Motakef
Plastic Surgeon
This patient is an avid weightlifter who developed bottoming out of her right breast implants, which created significant breast asymmetry. Patients with implants underneath the pec muscles are at higher risk for problems like these. The pecs run across your chest wall from your sternum to your humerus. For women with implants under the muscle, over time, the forces of the pec muscles will push implants down and out.
In her case, we removed her implants from underneath her pec muscles and re-attached her pecs to the chest wall. We then replaced her Sientra 580 CC implants with Motiva 550 CC RSF silicone implants. These implants were both completely wrapped in P4HB GalaFLEX mesh, then placed over the muscle in a subfascial pocket.
Post op, you can appreciate her improved shape, symmetry and upper pole fullness. Even though her implants are actually smaller than her previous ones, they appear bigger and rounder since they are placed above the muscle.
Results are shown at 2 months post op.
