This patient wanted to achieve a slimmer and more defined appearance to the lower third of her face. She was bothered by fullness in the lower cheeks. In order to achieve her goals, a buccal fat pad removal was performed.
This procedure is performed via tiny incisions inside the cheek. Through these incisions, buccal fat is carefully teased free from its soft tissue attachment and removed. Results at just 2 weeks post op demonstrate a slimmer, more tapered appearance to the lower third of the face. A conservative approach is recommended with this procedure, so as not to cause an excessively hollow or gaunt appearance in the face.
