This patient in her late 30's wanted to improve the appearance of a double chin or excess fat in her chin and neck area which gave her neck a full, obtuse appearance. Submental liposuction can be an effective way to contour and define the jawline, creating a more youthful and attractive facial profile. During the procedure, a small incision is made beneath the chin and a thin tube, or "cannula," is inserted to suction out the excess fat. VASER liposuction is performed to allow for better skin tightening and to minimize the risk of contour irregularities. The procedure usually takes less than an hour and can be performed under local or general anesthesia. She is shown here at 3 months post op and is very pleased with her results.
