This patient in her early 40s had revision breast surgery to improve the appearance of her breasts following explant surgery. She had previously had her breast implants removed and a breast lift performed and was unhappy with the size and shape of her breasts. In order to improve the appearance of her breasts, we performed liposuction over her abdomen, flanks, and inner thighs and performed fat grafting to her breasts. This was performed over two stages to achieve the desired size and shape.
Autologous fat grafting is a procedure where a patient's own fat is harvested from one area of the body (usually through liposuction) and then injected into the breasts to improve their shape, size, and contour. This technique is commonly used in breast reconstruction after mastectomy or lumpectomy, as well as for cosmetic breast enhancement.
